What Happened at Finastra?
On or around November 7, 2024, Finastra’s Security Operations Center discovered suspicious activity on their file transfer system. Then on November 8, 2024, a threat actor made a post on the dark web claiming to have stolen a large cache of sensitive data from Finastra that is potentially associated with the Company’s extensive list of clients in the financial sector that include banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions. The breach may have exposed the personal data of millions of individuals.
Finastra has yet to confirm the exact scope of the breach, but there is a possibility that the data exposed could include: name, address, social security number, and financial information including account numbers and transaction data.
Why is this important to you?
The data breach, if confirmed, could have severe implications for the affected users, leading to potential identity theft, financial fraud, and further cyber attacks.
