Fake Pay Rates – Class Action Investigation
CSK&D is investigating reports that in order to attract workers, some big dining and retail companies are advertising fake pay rates or fake job opening to job seekers. For example, applicants may see a job posting advertising $16/hour, apply and interview for that position, only to be told when they are offered a job that the actual hourly rate is less. At that point the applicant may be forced to take the job anyway or risk losing unemployment benefits. Some companies that reportedly may be using such practices include McDonalds and Staples.
