DigitalOcean Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against the cloud infrastructure giant DigitalOcean following recent news of a data breach involving the potential leak of customers’ sensitive information.

DigitalOcean told customers in an email that it has “confirmed an unauthorized exposure of details associated with the billing profile” of certain customers’ accounts. The company said the perpetrators gained access to billing profiles over a two-week window between April 9 and April 22. The information potentially exposed includes billing names, billing addresses, payment card expiration dates, last 4 digits of payment cards, and payment card bank names.
