Class Certified For Certain BMW I3 Vehicle Owners & Lessees in Range Extender Class Action

The United States District Court of the Central District of California ruled today that a case being prosecuted by CSK&D and co-counsel against BMW can proceed as a class action.  The decision certified a class consisting of entities and individuals in who purchased or leased BMW i3 REx vehicles, model years 2014-2016, that were equipped with a Range Extender from an authorized BMW dealership in California. The case alleges that the Range Extenders—which run on gas and extend the distance the i3 can travel when the electric battery in the vehicle is depleted—cause the BMW i3 vehicles to experience a dangerous and rapid deceleration mid-drive.
