Cigna and American Specialty Health Networks Admin Fee – Potential Class Action

Cigna and American Specialty Health Networks Admin Fee – Potential Class Action

C&T is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Cigna and American Specialty Health Networks relating to administrative fees patients may have been unknowingly charged in connection with physical therapy treatment. Cigna and American Specialty Health Networks may be charging patients an inflated price for their physical therapy treatment and paying only a portion of this inflated price to physical therapy providers. This may be a violation of ERISA and the terms of patients’ Cigna insurance plans.

C&T has already filed a class action complaint on behalf of chiropractic patients with Cigna insurance who were charged this administrative fee at Carol A. Lietz v. Cigna Corporation, et al., No. 2:16-cv-03967-NIQA (E.D. Pa). For more information about this case, click here.
