Center for Vein Restoration Data Breach  – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving Center for Vein Restoration (“CVR”), a healthcare provider based in Greenbelt, Maryland who specializes in treating varicose veins, spider veins, and other vein-related conditions. The Company confirmed an estimated 446,094 individuals had their information taken in a data breach incident according to a filing with the US Department of Health and Human Services.

What Happened at CVR?

On or around October 6, 2024, CVR discovered that an unauthorized user had gained access to its system. In response, the Company conducted a thorough investigation to ascertain the scope of the potential data security incident.

The investigation was concluded on November 5, 2024, finding that the personally-identifying information of an estimated 316,342 individuals was compromised including, but not limited to the following: name, address, date of birth, social security number, driver’s license number, medical record number, medical information, health insurance information, financial information, and employment information.
