CaptureRx Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP is investigating a potential data breach class action lawsuit against San-Antonio based technology company, CaptureRx.

CaptureRx assists hospitals in managing their 340B drug programs. It detected unusual activity in their files on February 19th, 2021. They believe the data has been accessed since February 6, 2021. Data that may have been exposed includes patient records with protected health information. This includes: names, birthdates, and prescription details.

A number of hospitals have reported that some of their patients’ information was accessed as part of the CaptureRx data breach. These hospitals and healthcare providers include, but are not limited to:

  • Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare, an affiliate of Mohawk Valley Health System, New York
  • Ascension Standish Hospital, Michigan
  • Ascension St. Joseph Hoslital, Michigan
  • Lourdes Hospital, New York
  • Gifford Health, Vermont
  • UPMC Cole, Pennsylvania
  • Bayhealth, Delaware
  • Walmart
