Brockton Data Breach– Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving Brockton Multi Services, Inc. (“Brockton”), a Massachusetts based non-profit organization that provides an array of medical services to children, adults, and families.  The organization confirmed that thousands of consumers had their information taken in a data breach incident according to a filing with the Maine Attorney General’s office.

What Happened at Brockton?

On April 14, 2024,  Brockton confirmed that they had discovered unusual activity on their system. An internal investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party had gained access to the Company’s system resulting in the exposure of sensitive personal and medical information belonging to an estimated 23,705 individuals. Information compromised as a result of the breach includes, but not limited to, the following:  name, date of birth, social security number, driver’s license or state identification card numbers, account number, diagnosis or treatment information, and/or health insurance information.
