BMW i3 Range Extender Deceleration – Class Action Investigation

BMW i3 Range Extender Deceleration – Class Action Investigation

C&T is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against BMW relating to the all-electric i3 vehicle. C&T is investigating whether BMW’s i3 model with Range Extender contains a defect that causes the vehicle to abruptly decelerate while driving when the vehicle’s battery is drained and the vehicle switches over to fuel-powered Range Extender.  The result of this occurrence is that the i3 drastically loses speed and cannot regain power. Some reports indicate that drivers have experienced a reduction in speed to a maximum of 35 m.p.h. on a road where other drivers were driving at 75 m.p.h. This alleged defect creates a serious safety concern for i3 owners and other drivers on the road.
