Beachbody On Demand Fraudulent Billing Practices – Class Action Investigation

C&T is investigating a potential class action against Beachbody, LLC relating to reports that Beachbody engages in fraudulent billing practices with respect to its workout video subscription service called Beachbody On Demand. Beachbody On Demand is a library of online workout videos made available for streaming by Beachbody. Consumer complaints and reports indicate that consumers sign up for a “free trial” period of Beachbody On Demand but frequently continue to receive credit card charges beyond the trial period despite cancelling the membership. Other reports suggest that Beachbody unknowingly enrolls consumers who sign up for the trial membership for other unwanted products, such as vitamin supplies. C&T is investigating whether Beachbody makes it difficult for consumer to obtain refunds for unwanted services, or fails to issue refunds altogether. These practices may be in violation of state and federal consumer protection laws.
