Bayer “Safety Coated” Aspirin – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers who purchased Bayer aspirin that was labeled as being “safety coated.” Aspirin is generally coated to make it easier for the stomach to process, and typically costs more than non-coated aspirin.  However, a recent published report from the University of Pennsylvania revealed that there is little evidence that coated aspirin actually protects the stomach better than uncoated aspirin.  C&T is investigating whether Bayer’s advertisements describing its aspirin as “Safety Coated,” and other similar statements, violated certain consumer protection statutes and other laws.
