Arby’s Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Arby’s Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit behalf of banks, credit unions and other financial institutions against the fast food restaurant Arby’s. It has recently been reported that Arby’s was the target of a data breach that involved malicious software installed on payment card systems at hundreds of its corporate restaurant locations nationwide. PSCU, an organization that provides services to more than 800 credit unions, recently issued an alert to its members advising them that a large number of Visa and MasterCard cards were compromised in a breach at a “large fast food restaurant chain” suspected to be Arby’s.

In the aftermath of data breaches, banks and credit unions often incur expenses associated with reissuing debit and credit cards and covering fraudulent transactions. C&T has experience representing issuers in similar data breach litigation. If your bank or credit union has incurred such costs related to the Arby’s breach, please contact the attorneys below to discuss our investigation.
