Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (CSK&D) is investigating a potential class action lawsuit related to a data breach that compromised credit cards and other payment cards used by consumers at Applebee’s restaurants. RMH Franchise Holdings, the owner of certain Applebee’s franchises, recently announced that it became aware that information related to the payment cards used by consumers at certain Applebee’s between approximately December 6, 2017 and January 2, 2018 could have been compromised by unauthorized software utilized by a third party. Specifically, the data breach reportedly covers 167 Applebee’s locations in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wyoming.
