AnnieMac Home Mortgage Data Breach  – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving American Neighborhood Mortgage Acceptance Company, LLC d/b/a AnnieMac Home Mortgage (“AnnieMac”),a mortgage loan provider. Company confirmed an estimated 171,074 consumers had their information taken in a data breach incident according to a filing with the Maine Attorney General.

What Happened at AnnieMac?

On or around August 23, 2024, AnnieMac discovered that an unauthorized user had gained access to its system. In response , the Company hired a third-party cybersecurity forensics agency to conduct a thorough investigation. Investigation confirmed that the unauthorized user had access to AnnieMac’s computer system between August 21, 2024-August 23, 2024 resulting in the compromise of personally identifying data belonging to an estimated 171,074 individuals.

The information compromised may have included, but not limited to the following: name and social security number.
