Ally Bank Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action lawsuit relating to news that Ally Bank was the victim of a recent data breach.

According to a data breach notification letter dated June 11, 2021, Ally Bank disclosed it had discovered a programming code error associated with the Company’s website that led to customers’ personal information being inadvertently revealed to third-parties who have business relationships with Ally Bank.  It is estimated that the data breach compromised the username and passwords associated with online access to an unspecified number of Ally Bank customers’ financial and investment accounts.
